Yoko’s health and wellness journey started when she was pregnant with her daughter. She did not want her daughter to consume lifeless and denatured food that may be convenient but full of preservatives and chemicals.

Yoko studied macrobiotic at Kushi Institute of Japan, then Holistic nutrition, which opened the door to raw and living food cuisine

Shoku Iku is one of my places, where I find the inspiration to keep connecting with the source, abundant love we all have to give and share, and graciously receive with gratitude

What is the inspiration behind Shoku Iku?

Shoku Iku is not your usual cafe/shop. It is a place to learn and experience this new dynamic way of eating. introducing whole foods cooking, (or uncooking ) using healing organic/biodynamic ingredients,emphasising  the importance on fruits, vegetables and whole natural foods and also the use of “super foods”, “super herbs”, and longevity supplements.

With the knowledge gained over the years. meals are always nurturing and kind to your body and soul, and of course your taste-buds!

Based on Raw and living food cuisine, enhanced with contemporary and traditional idea of macrobiotic philosophy, integrating the knowledge from both East Asian system and modern nutrition.

Service : organic raw food cafe, online and on site cooking class, food product, herbal supplements

Can you tell us how you started your business?

It was my passion and love for organic ethical food production, raw food and herbs

What would you say has been your biggest challenge?

The biggest challenge is/was life and work balance and letting go of the control.

Being a single mum, I could not do everything by myself anymore.

Just hiring other people slowly to help out has been life changing
